Parton had earlier spoken out against the fake AI-generated photos, which falsely depicted her lying in a hospital bed while Reba McEntire appeared to be holding up a sonogram.
Like her longtime friend Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire isn’t staying quiet about the fake AI images making the rounds online.
Both country legends have recently been targeted by digitally altered photos — one showing 79-year-old Parton in a hospital bed as McEntire, 70, holds her hand, and another falsely portraying McEntire holding up a sonogram.
Just a day after Parton addressed the hoax in a social media video — where she also reassured fans about her health — McEntire responded with her own lighthearted video shared on Instagram and TikTok.
“You tell ’em, Dolly! That AI mess has got us doing all kinds of crazy things,” McEntire joked in her Thursday, Oct. 9 video. “You’re out there dying, I’m out here having a baby.”
She continued with her trademark humor and warmth: “Well, both of us know you’re too young and I’m too old for any of that kind of nonsense. But you better know I’m praying for you. I love you with all my heart and I can’t wait to see you soon. Love you.”
McEntire captioned the post, “Too young to die, too old for babies 🤣 I love you, @DollyParton! See you soon ❤️.”
Speculation about Parton’s health began after her sister, Freida Parton, took to Facebook asking fans to pray for the country legend, following the postponement of Dolly’s Las Vegas residency due to unspecified health concerns.
“Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly,” Freida wrote on Tuesday, Oct. 7. “Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I’ve been led to ask everyone who loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me.”
Later that evening, Freida clarified her message, assuring fans she hadn’t meant to cause alarm or make Dolly’s condition sound more serious than it was.
Dolly herself later addressed both the rumors and the AI-generated photos in a social media video, debunking the fake images and giving fans an update on her health.
“Did you see that AI picture of Reba and me?” Dolly Parton asked with a laugh in her video. “Oh lordy, I mean, they had Reba at my death bed and we both looked like we need to be buried. But I thought, oh my lord — if I was really dying, I don’t think Reba would be the one at my death bed. She might come visit me earlier.”
The country legend went on to reassure fans, saying she wanted to “put everybody’s mind at ease” and confirm that she’s “okay.”
Parton explained that while she’s been dealing with some lingering health issues that she had put off addressing while caring for her late husband, Carl Dean, they were “nothing major.”
Back in September, Parton missed the public announcement of Dollywood’s new Night Flight Expedition ride as she recovered from a bout with kidney stones.
“I had a kidney stone that was causing me a lot of problems,” she said in a video message shown at the event. “Turned out it had given me an infection, and the doctor said, ‘You don’t need to be traveling right this minute — you need a few days to get better.’”
