The awards ceremony was broadcast live from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville on NBC and Peacock at 8 p.m. ET.

At the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards, Miranda Lambert was honored with the country icon award.
During the ceremony, hosted by Shania Twain at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville on September 26, the 40-year-old country star expressed her gratitude to her fans and reflected on her journey.
“Standing here with an icon award feels surreal for me. To me, an icon is someone I listened to growing up. My dad used to play music by Jerry Jeff Walker, Merle Haggard, Guy Clark, and John Prine—those are my icons,” Lambert stated while accepting the award. “It’s hard to believe that I receive this honor tonight; it’s truly mind-blowing.”
She also remarked, “It’s taken a lot of years, tears, beers, and Tito’s.”
She's everything and more, she's @mirandalambert. ✨

The “Bluebird” artist expressed her gratitude to her fans for their unwavering support, which has helped her create “great memories” throughout her career.
“Twenty years later, there are days when I feel like I’ve been at this for 200 years, and then there are days when it feels like I’m just getting started,” she shared. “I’m incredibly thankful to the most loyal fans in the world—country fans. I appreciate God, my friends, and my country music community for allowing me to have this incredible job. I can’t wait to see what’s next.”
Before receiving her award, Lambert performed “Kerosene” and “Dammit Randy” on stage, dressed in an all-black outfit and playing her blue guitar.
Lambert received the award in recognition of her long-standing career, during which she has created “an authentic, female-forward brand of country music that has significantly influenced the industry,” according to a press release.
“Miranda Lambert has been a powerful force in country music for over 20 years, and her trailblazing albums consistently resonate with fans worldwide. We are thrilled to honor her career, strong individuality, and innovative contributions to the industry with the Country Icon Award,” stated Jen Neal, Executive Vice President of Live Events and Specials at NBCUniversal Entertainment.
