The country music sensation was awarded the 109th star on the iconic Music City Walk of Fame.
On Thursday, March 20, Luke Combs was honored with induction into the Music City Walk of Fame, receiving the 109th star on the iconic walkway. The special ceremony was held at Music City Walk of Fame Park, where Combs’ name now joins a distinguished list of influential artists who have made a lasting impact on country music history.
This honor celebrates Luke Combs for his exceptional commitment to preserving Nashville’s rich musical heritage and his remarkable influence on audiences worldwide through his music. Among his many achievements, Combs is a proud Grand Ole Opry member and boasts an impressive collection of awards, including 11 CMA wins, four ACM honors, and six Billboard Music Awards. Additionally, the multi-platinum star recently made history as the first artist to have two songs surpass a billion streams on Spotify and the first country artist with three RIAA diamond-certified singles.
Members of the media, industry leaders, fans, and Luke Combs’ family gathered to celebrate his induction, where they were welcomed by Bill Cody, host of Coffee, Country & Cody and Grand Ole Opry announcer.
After highlighting Combs’ impressive accomplishments, Cody remarked, “Luke, being able to honor you now with your own star on the Music City Walk of Fame, especially as a legendary Opry member during the 100th anniversary year — well, it doesn’t get any more true Nashville than that, does it?”
Following Cody’s heartfelt introduction, he welcomed fellow Walk of Fame inductee Colin Reed of Ryman Hospitality Properties to the podium. Reed shared memorable stories from his experiences with Combs over the years, reflecting not only on Combs’ success as a country star but also on his character — describing him as a man of “wit, intellect, and deep compassion for his family.”
“There are many individuals who have been honored with induction into the Walk of Fame over the years,” Reed shared. “All of these inductees have enjoyed remarkable careers and have played a significant role in promoting Nashville as a music city. But in my view, Luke’s impact on the country music industry — though already incredible — is just beginning.”
Reed praised Combs’ distinctive talents, calling him “a great artist, a great human being, a devoted family man, and an exceptional songwriter and storyteller.”
He went on to predict that Combs will continue to grow his influence globally, ultimately becoming “a massive downstream demand generator for Nashville and Tennessee.”
“We’re lucky that he calls Nashville home, and Ryman and Opry Entertainment are thrilled to be his partners,” Reed added. “And most importantly, I’m proud to call you my friend. It’s an honor to present Luke with this star.”
