Dolly Parton continues to unveil cover songs from her upcoming album “Rockstar,” and this time, she collaborates with Miley Cyrus on a new rendition of “Wrecking Ball.”
The iconic duo first performed “Wrecking Ball” during Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party on December 31. The performance was a part of a live medley on NBC, featuring “Jolene” by Dolly Parton, “Walkin’ After Midnight” by Patsy Cline, and “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll” by Joan Jett & the Blackhearts.
In a press release, Dolly Parton expressed her admiration for the song, saying, “When I heard ‘Wrecking Ball,’ I almost wept in my car. When it started into the chorus, it hit me like a wrecking ball! I thought how great can a song be and how great can Miley Cyrus be?”
The track is set to appear on the forthcoming 30-song album “Rockstar,” scheduled for release on November 17. This album, which will be Parton’s 49th studio release, primarily features covers of rock songs.
