Kane Brown Hints at Releasing New Project Sooner Than Expected if “2 Pair” Takes Off
Kane Brown may be known for spacing out his album releases over two to three years, giving himself time to carefully craft each project—but that timeline could shift depending on the success of his newest single, “2 Pair.”
Earlier this year, Brown released The High Road, his fourth studio album. By his usual rhythm, fans wouldn’t expect a new full-length release until 2027 or even 2028. However, in a recent conversation with Audacy’s Katie Neal, the country star revealed that “2 Pair” has reignited his creative drive—and might accelerate his release plans.
“This is the song I’m locked in on right now,” Brown explained. “I’ve got writers flying out to Florida this week. It wasn’t going to be a new project, but if ‘2 Pair’ really takes off, we might put out a quick EP or a nine-track album.”
He admitted that the upbeat, genre-blending summer anthem has him more energized than he’s felt in a while. It’s not just the writing process that’s got him motivated—he’s also eager to reengage with fans online. “You’re gonna see me everywhere,” he said, hinting at a return to consistent social media presence.
“2 Pair,” produced by Jordan Schmidt and co-written with Andrew Haas, Gabe Foust, Ian Franzino, Jacob Hackworth, and Jaxson Free, combines country with elements of pop and R&B. Its laid-back vibe and catchy hook make it a strong contender for a summer hit.
Brown described the track as his own country-inspired take on Nelly’s early-2000s hit, “Air Force Ones.” Rather than sneakers, though, Brown sings about high-quality cowboy boots—specifically, Luccheses—as a symbol of his Southern style and energy.
Whether or not a new album arrives soon, “2 Pair” is clearly a major focus for Brown—and if it connects with fans the way he hopes, it may reshape his typical album cycle altogether.
Continuing to express his excitement for the track, Kane Brown described “2 Pair” as “just a fun, high-energy song—like a country spin on Nelly’s ‘Air Force Ones.’”
The chart-topping artist also shared that crafting the track wasn’t as effortless as it might seem. Behind the scenes, a lot of time and fine-tuning went into getting it right.
“There was a point where I wanted to drop it quickly,” Brown admitted. “But the feedback we got was, ‘Let’s let it build.’ We didn’t want it to feel rushed or like we weren’t putting real work into it.”
With the help of producer Jordan Schmidt, they eventually locked in the sound Brown had envisioned—one he felt proud to release to fans.
