“I hope I didn’t disappoint anyone with that,” the country singer remarked humorously, adding, “When you’re on the heavier side, you can’t afford stinky feet on top of it all!”

Who would’ve guessed that Jelly Roll’s most “frivolous indulgence” revolves around socks?

The 39-year-old country singer, who has been nominated for two Grammy Awards, shared a surprising revelation with fans during a conversation with Audacy’s Sabrina from Queens ahead of the 59th annual ACM Awards last week.

“Can I share a little frivolous habit of mine?” the “Save Me” artist asked. “Please don’t judge me for this, folks. I assure you, I come from humble beginnings, but I have this thing where I only wear socks once.”

The “Wild Ones” singer confessed to purchasing socks “in bulk” to ensure he never wears them twice, admitting, “It’s probably the most frivolous thing I do with my success.”

“I’m sorry if I’ve disappointed anyone with that,” he quipped, “but when you’re on the heavier side, you can’t afford to have smelly feet, so fresh socks are a must!”

Amidst his recent achievements, Jelly Roll has remained dedicated to his journey towards better health, focusing on enhancing his physical fitness. Just last month, the music sensation shared with PEOPLE, “I’ve probably shed around 70 pounds,” just before joining Bert Kreischer and Tom Segura for the 2 Bears 5K event at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. He successfully completed the 5K on May 7, with his wife, Bunnie Xo, by his side, offering her support and encouragement.

“What an incredible day with wonderful people! I’m so proud of my sweetheart for completing the 5K and shedding 50 pounds to achieve it! 💫,” she wrote in the caption of an Instagram post, featuring a heartwarming video of the couple sharing a kiss in a cold plunge tub.

Reflecting further on his fitness journey with PEOPLE, Jelly shared, “I’ve been really putting in the work. I’m covering two to three miles daily, four to six days a week. I’m dedicating 20 to 30 minutes to the sauna each day, along with six minutes in a cold plunge. My diet has been on point.”

“I feel incredibly well,” he remarked on his lifestyle transformation. “I’ve been thinking, I aim to shed another 100, maybe even 100-and-something pounds. If I’m feeling this amazing at my current weight, I can only imagine how I’ll feel when I hit the road for tour.”

Jelly is set to embark on his Beautifully Broken tour later this summer, hitting 37 cities across the U.S. Joined by musicians Warren Zeiders and Alexandra Kay, his tour kicks off in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Aug. 27 and concludes exactly two months later in Charlotte, NC.

At this year’s ACM Awards, Jelly received nominations in four categories, including entertainer of the year, and also took the stage to perform at the ceremony held on May 16 in Frisco, Texas. Reacting to his first-ever nominations, the country singer expressed to PEOPLE, “It’s just absolutely unbelievable.”

“I spent my whole life believing that what I was doing would never reach anyone or be recognized,” he continued. “I nearly abandoned any hope of this kind of success, and now, to be right in the midst of it all, it’s simply incredible. I’m filled with gratitude.”

Jelly Roll ultimately clinched the award for music event of the year for his collaboration “Save Me” with his friend Lainey Wilson.
