Renowned Songwriter Lori McKenna to Host Apple Music’s New Lost & Found Radio Show

Jelly Roll has joined forces with Apple Music to introduce “Lost & Found,” a novel music program on the streaming service that spotlights Nashville songwriters by featuring their unreleased tracks.
Kelleigh Bannen, host of Apple Music Country, expressed the platform’s dedication to celebrating and supporting artists and creators. Lost & Found embodies Apple Music’s commitment to advocating for songwriters and showcasing the vast reservoir of undiscovered music. This initiative reflects the platform’s global focus, not just limited to Nashville, as they continue their mission to promote talented artists worldwide. Apple Music is enthusiastic about collaborating with exceptional artists in distinctive ways like this and is eager to welcome more remarkable talents to partake in the Lost & Found program.
Apple Music has collaborated with the songwriting community to uncover and release six lost demos that country stars will re-record. These “found” songs will be available on Apple Music in Spatial Audio.
The Lost & Found program began today, and Apple Music plans to release a newly discovered recording every month. The first track, “Dragging These Roots,” written by Ben Hayslip, Josh Thompson, and Jesse Frasure, is performed by Jelly Roll.
In 2019, Apple’s music team received “Dragging These Roots” when it was sent by Nashville’s publishing community for potential inclusion in the program. When Jelly Roll was introduced to the concept, he immediately decided to cut the song after a FaceTime call with Frasure from Apple Music’s listening room. Jelly Roll expressed his gratitude to Apple Music for shining a spotlight on creators and their exceptional artistry.
Frasure shared his excitement about Jelly Roll finding and recording the song, as it was one of his favorite co-writes. He had hoped the song would see the light of day eventually, and having Jelly Roll, a favorite artist and friend, cut it was a dream come true. Frasure praised Jelly Roll’s soulful singing and the heartfelt effort he put into the recording.
In addition to the Lost & Found collection, Apple Music has launched a monthly companion radio show, “Lost & Found Radio,” which will be hosted by renowned songwriter Lori McKenna. The show premiered alongside the program today and features Kelleigh Bannen and the songwriters themselves.
McKenna expressed her excitement to be part of this initiative and to host the companion radio show on Apple Music Country. She acknowledged that every songwriter has a catalog filled with lost songs, and it’s thrilling that Apple Music is bringing these almost hits to life while providing space for the writers and the stories behind these songs.
