Gabby Barrett recently released her first Christmas album, Carols and Candlelight, but fans don’t have to look far to find songs reflecting her faith and spirituality on her previous albums.
During a visit to Taste of Country Nights, host Evan Paul asked the “I Hope” singer if the tough nature of the music industry has ever tested her faith in God.
“I like to stay in my Bible as much as I can,” Barrett shared. “There are challenges and difficulties, especially with me having three kids under the age of 4… and balancing tour, a music career, and still being the artist.”
“That’s not easy,” the former American Idol contestant admits. “So, I’ve definitely faced challenges with that. I just stay in my Bible, and that’s the most important thing for me to do.”
“It helps keep me centered and reminds me of why I do this,” she added.
Barrett and her family are deeply involved in their church and community, living a faith-driven lifestyle. Some fans have even speculated whether the singer might eventually transition from country music to focus more on releasing Christian music.
So, we asked her directly. Barrett firmly insists that she is a country singer at heart and will occasionally include some non-secular music in her repertoire. However, she is adamant that her focus will remain on country music.
The star lives with her husband, Cade Foehner—also a former American Idol contestant—and their three children: Baylah May, Augustine Boone, and Ivy Josephine.
