Ella Langley and Morgan Wallen have teamed up for their first duet, “I Can’t Love You Anymore,” a moody, slow-building country track centered on two people struggling to fully let go of a past relationship.
Written by Langley alongside Austin Goodloe and Joybeth Taylor, the song explores lingering heartbreak and emotional attachment that continues to resurface even after a breakup. In the chorus, both artists join voices to emphasize the push-and-pull of trying to move on while still feeling tied to someone from the past.
The collaboration highlights strong vocal chemistry between the pair, with Wallen handling the second verse to give his perspective on the same emotional conflict.
Fans first heard the track during a surprise live debut at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where Wallen brought Langley out during a stop on his tour in front of a massive crowd. The performance quickly built anticipation for an official release.
Wallen later said Langley had sent him the song about a month earlier, adding that he “loved it the second I heard it” and felt it was an easy yes for a collaboration. He also shared that working with her on tour made the partnership feel natural and well-timed.
The release also comes with added buzz after fans noticed an earlier hint in Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” video, where a license plate reading “ICLYA” subtly teased the upcoming duet.
