CBS Unveils “New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash” Featuring Thomas Rhett, Lainey Wilson, and More

Music City is set to continue its holiday tradition with “NEW YEAR’S EVE LIVE: NASHVILLE’S BIG BASH,” as announced by CBS on Monday. This annual event will once again bring together some of country music’s biggest stars, including Thomas Rhett and Lainey Wilson, to create one of the year’s most festive and lively New Year’s Eve celebrations in downtown Nashville.

The five-hour extravaganza will feature dynamic live performances by artists like Thomas Rhett, Lainey Wilson, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and more. Viewers can tune in live on Sunday, December 31, from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM ET/PT and from 10:30 PM to 1:05 AM ET/PT on the CBS Television Network and Paramount+.

Robert Deaton, the executive producer, expressed excitement about the event, noting that this year’s lineup promises to be the most thrilling yet. He mentioned that the celebration will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the iconic southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, showcase the rising star Lainey Wilson, and feature country music superstar Thomas Rhett, with additional artists and special guests yet to be revealed.

Deaton also highlighted how Nashville has become a popular New Year’s Eve destination and expressed his honor at CBS’s decision to continue showcasing the city’s vibrant music scene in a multi-year television deal.

The event will feature nearly 50 entertainers performing at various locations across the city, including the mainstage at Nashville’s Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. Past performers have included Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Brooks & Dunn, Luke Bryan, Sheryl Crow, Miranda Lambert, King Calaway, and more.

“NEW YEAR’S EVE LIVE: NASHVILLE’S BIG BASH” will be broadcast across multiple time zones, with the traditional countdown at midnight ET on CBS. The evening will culminate with the iconic Nashville music note drop and a spectacular fireworks display at midnight CT.

The production of “NEW YEAR’S EVE LIVE: NASHVILLE’S BIG BASH” is headed by executive producers Robert Deaton and Mary Hilliard Harrington in collaboration with the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp, and the special will be directed by Sandra Restrepo.
