Carrie Underwood Anchors Sunday Night Football for the 11th Consecutive Season, Integrating Her Las Vegas Residency

Carrie Underwood Continues as the Face of Sunday Night Football for the 11th Season, Showcasing Her Las Vegas Residency in the Opening Act
On Tuesday, Sunday Night Football announced that Carrie Underwood will once again headline the show open for NBC’s Sunday Night Football, marking her 11th consecutive season in this role, starting on September 10.
This time, Underwood brings a unique touch by incorporating her Las Vegas residency, “REFLECTION,” into the opening. The performance integrates elements from The Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas, where she presents her residency. The show open features an updated version of her iconic “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night” anthem, complemented by live footage intermingled with augmented reality highlights displayed on the scoreboard.
In a statement, Underwood expressed her excitement, saying, “Once again, the incredible Sunday Night Football team came up with a fresh, exciting visual concept that really gave us a chance to play. I loved shooting the show open again this year at our home away from home, The Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas, and can’t wait for another season of football!”
Fans will get a sneak peek of Underwood’s new show opener during the Hall of Fame game, which will premiere at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, broadcasted on NBC and Peacock.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to collaborate with Carrie to bring a fresh vision to this season’s show open. It sets the perfect tone for the broadcast and pays homage to the teams, star players, and passionate fans in an engaging and dynamic manner,” said Tripp Dixon, the creative director behind the Saturday Night Football opener for the past 11 years.
For 12 consecutive years, Sunday Night Football has reigned as primetime television’s top program. The highly anticipated show, along with its captivating new opening, will debut on Sunday, Sept. 10, airing on NBC and Peacock. The first game will feature Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys facing off against Daniel Jones and the NFC East rivals, New York Giants. This marks the fifth time that the Cowboys and Giants have clashed in the opening NBC Sunday Night Football game, promising an exciting start to the season.
