American Idol marked Easter Sunday with a special “Songs of Faith” episode on April 20, and Carrie Underwood’s performance was undoubtedly the highlight of the night.
Underwood delivered a powerful rendition of the classic Christian hymn “How Great Thou Art,” hitting soaring high notes that stirred the audience, and left judges Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan, and Jelly Roll visibly moved in an emotional moment of worship.
Wearing an ethereal pink gown and backed by gospel singers, Underwood smiled as she sang, performing against a breathtaking backdrop of cloud-dotted skies.

Carrie Underwood has performed “How Great Thou Art” on several notable occasions throughout her career, including a duet with Vince Gill in 2014. She also featured a solo version of the hymn on her 2021 gospel album, My Savior.
