‘The Voice’ Coaches Playfully Compare Riley Green to a Younger, More Stylish Blake Shelton

Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson took a playful jab at their former The Voice colleague Blake Shelton as they introduced Riley Green as the newest addition to the show’s coaching lineup.

NBC’s The Voice is gearing up for its landmark 30th season, which will introduce several new personalities to the coaching lineup. Although Blake Shelton is no longer sitting in one of the show’s signature red chairs, his former colleagues apparently haven’t stopped having a little fun at his expense.

Returning for the upcoming season are longtime The Voice coaches Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson. They’ll be joined by Queen Latifah and country singer Riley Green, both of whom will be stepping into coaching roles for the first time.

Ahead of the new season, the show brought all four coaches together for a roundtable discussion. They opened up about the Blind Auditions, the emotional experience of watching artists take the stage for the first time, and the types of musical performances they expect to gravitate toward as the competition progresses.

The conversation eventually shifted into lighter territory when Levine and Clarkson began teasing their former colleague, Shelton.

While talking about Green’s arrival on the coaching panel, Levine highlighted the addition of another country artist to the group, joking that there was “a new cowboy” in the room.

Clarkson immediately followed up with her own playful description, calling Green the “younger, cooler, hot one,” clearly drawing a humorous comparison to Shelton.
