Riley Green Receives a Custom ‘The Voice’ Chair Upgrade Courtesy of Carson Daly

According to Green, it’s a unique feature that no one else on the show has.
Riley Green is preparing for his debut as a coach on Season 30 of NBC’s The Voice, and he’ll be sitting in a one-of-a-kind chair designed just for him.
Speaking with K99.1 FM, the country singer shared that host and executive producer Carson Daly helped solve an unexpected problem involving Green’s trademark cowboy hat. Because the iconic red coach’s chair has a tall back, Green realized he wouldn’t be able to comfortably wear his hat while seated. Instead, he jokingly suggested adding a special holder for it.
Green recalled telling Daly that a custom holster for his hat would be a great idea. Daly responded that, as one of the show’s executive producers, he could probably make it happen.
When Green returned to the set, he found that the idea had become reality. A personalized hat holder had been installed on his chair, giving him a feature no other coach has.
“So nobody else has that,” Green said proudly.
The Alabama native also joked that the custom addition could become part of his recruiting strategy during the competition. He explained that putting on his cowboy hat while convincing contestants to join his team might help show that he means business.
Green will join fellow coaches Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, and Queen Latifah for the upcoming season. Although he’s explored opportunities outside of music—including an acting role on CBS’ Marshals—he admitted coaching The Voice was never something he expected to do.
According to Green, the opportunity caught him by surprise, and even after producers reached out, he initially found it hard to believe that he had been chosen for the role.
