Megan Moroney Gets Emotional After Having to Cut Denver Show Short: ‘I’m So Sorry’

Megan Moroney experienced an emotional setback Tuesday night (July 28) when illness forced her to stop her Cloud 9 Tour performance at Denver’s Ball Arena after only three songs.
Videos posted to social media showed Moroney taking a break after singing “Stupid,” “Medicine,” and “Bless Your Heart” to explain to the audience why she could not continue.
“I never wanted to have to do this, but I’m extremely sick, and I really thought I had done everything I could to feel better,” Moroney told the crowd. “I just can’t perform tonight. But I promise I’m going to make this up to you. I will absolutely be back. I want to be able to give you the kind of show you came here for, and I’m probably going to go cry in my dressing room now.”
The announcement was met with audible disappointment from the audience, but fans quickly responded with supportive chants, including “We love you!” Moroney appeared overwhelmed by the moment and wiped tears from her face as she continued speaking.
“This is honestly my worst nightmare, and I promise I’ll make it up to you guys 10 times over,” she said. “I love you, and I’m really sorry. We’ll figure everything out and I’ll share all the details with you as soon as possible. I’m truly sorry. Love you guys.”
Moroney then left the stage.
That same night, the singer turned to Instagram Stories to address her fans directly. She described canceling the performance as one of the most difficult choices she has ever faced and confirmed that the Denver concert has been moved to August 27.
In her message, Moroney apologized to fans and explained that she refuses to perform unless she can give the audience her full effort. By the third song, she realized she was too unwell to deliver the performance she wanted fans to experience.
She also said she was writing the message while crying backstage and acknowledged how painful it was for her to disappoint the Denver crowd.
The rescheduled concert will take place August 27, and tickets purchased for the original date will remain valid. Fans who cannot attend the new date can request refunds through their original point of purchase.
Moroney ended her message by once again apologizing to fans and expressing her love for them.
