Megan Moroney Comes Back to Georgia to Celebrate ‘Cloud 9’ with Raising Cane’s in a Full-Circle Moment

Megan Moroney made a nostalgic return to Athens, GA, the city where she once pulled all-nighters, chased big dreams, and frequented the Raising Cane’s drive-thru while attending the University of Georgia. This visit, however, was less about late-night cravings and more about a milestone celebration: the announcement of her upcoming album, Cloud 9.
To honor her new “pink era,” the Athens Raising Cane’s was transformed into a full Cloud 9 experience, complete with pink décor, glitter, and all the glitz associated with Moroney’s next chapter. Hundreds of fans flocked to the restaurant with under 24 hours’ notice, some traveling up to six hours just to be among the first in line to see the country star.
During the event, Moroney snapped selfies, signed merchandise, and handed out Raising Cane’s gift cards. Even fans who couldn’t get inside were treated to her presence outside, where she joined Todd Graves, the Cane’s founder and fellow UGA alumnus, to chat with the crowd about pursuing their dreams. The gathering was packed with UGA students eager to hear advice from two people who turned their college ambitions into successful careers.
“Both Megan and I started here with big dreams—she wanted to be a country singer, and I wanted to start a chicken restaurant,” Graves told Country Now. “She opened for Chase Rice at the Georgia Theater, which is legendary. Coming back to this place years later with fans still supporting you is really special.”
Moroney reflected, “Driving through downtown or down Milledge Ave., I remember being that sorority girl making up songs in my house with no one to hear them. Now, it’s humbling to come back. My fans have fueled this entire journey. I don’t get to play shows without them, and they always show up.”
The afternoon was a heartfelt homecoming, perfectly timed the day before the Georgia vs. Texas game. Moroney also reminisced about her college days, recalling how her love for Raising Cane’s began just steps from her campus apartment, where she shared countless meals with close friends.
“When I started my career, working with Cane’s was one of my dream partnerships, so this really feels like full circle,” she said.
But Moroney didn’t just visit—she rolled up her sleeves. Dressed in a pink outfit with a matching Raising Cane’s hat, she stepped behind the drive-thru and front counter to serve meals to fans, bringing a personal touch to the celebration.
She also filmed scripted content with Graves, joining a list of country stars—including Luke Bryan, Koe Wetzel, Bailey Zimmerman, and Parker McCollum—who have teamed up with Raising Cane’s for surprise shifts, fan pop-ups, and other events marking major career milestones. These collaborations highlight the power of chasing dreams while bringing music lovers together with fellow chicken-finger fans.
Moroney is now heading back to Nashville for a major week ahead. She enters the 2025 CMA Awards as a six-time nominee and will perform live during the broadcast on ABC on Wednesday, November 19, with next-day streaming available on Hulu.
Her highly anticipated album, Cloud 9, is set to release on February 20, 2026. While the full tracklist remains under wraps, two songs have already been confirmed: her rising Top 10 hit “6 Months Later” and “Beautiful Things,” which recently hit country radio with 69 first-week adds, making it one of the most-added songs of the week.
