Country stars Megan Moroney and Jamey Johnson are set to bring a special night of music to Birmingham, Alabama, on January 15. The two award-winning artists will share the stage at The Fennec for a one-night-only event, blending heartfelt performances with a mission to give back to the community.
Titled “A Private Evening with ‘MOJO,’” the name reflects a combination of their last names and celebrates the close friendship between the two performers. Attendees can expect an intimate, storytelling-driven experience, showcasing the authenticity and emotion both artists are known for.
Proceeds from the event will benefit two charitable causes: Jamey and Brittney Johnson’s Give It Away Foundation, which supports a variety of charities and aids communities during crises, and The Megan Moroney Foundation, which focuses on combating bullying and promoting mental health initiatives. Through this event, the artists hope to raise awareness and funds for causes that resonate deeply with both them and their fans.
Moroney and Johnson have collaborated before, including Johnson’s birthday show at the Grand Ole Opry and their appearance on The Hallmark Channel’s A Grand Ole Opry Christmas Movie. In 2022, Moroney also joined Johnson on his What A View Tour, further cementing their professional connection.
Johnson played a pivotal role in Moroney’s early career, supporting her Grand Ole Opry debut in 2023 alongside Deana Carter. Moroney recalled the moment, saying, “When @jamey_johnson surprises you at the studio with @DeanaSings on FaceTime, you know it’s gotta be something good! So excited to make my @opry debut on February 11th.”
The MOJO benefit show will take place just months before Moroney launches her headlining arena tour, named after her upcoming album Cloud 9. The tour kicks off on May 29 in Columbus, Ohio, and runs through October 1, marking some of her largest performances to date.
