“I practice a lot of witchcraft-related rituals,” Chesney admits.
Kenny Chesney has long focused on maintaining both his physical and mental health to ensure he delivers high-energy performances on stage. While he once relied on daily intense workouts, the 57-year-old country star now incorporates a range of wellness practices that nurture both body and mind.
During a recent appearance on Rob Lowe’s “Literally!” podcast, Lowe asked Chesney if he used infrared saunas. The East Tennessee native responded by revealing some of the “witchcraft stuff” he does to stay in top form.
“I do some, I’ve got my own sauna,” Chesney explained.
He also balances heat therapy with cold plunges and complements these with IV treatments and “plasma exchange.” When Lowe expressed surprise at the plasma exchange, joking that he might try it for homework, Chesney warned, “It’s really intense but you feel fantastic…it’s really great for you.”
Chesney’s dedication to fitness intensified in the early 2000s as he began performing in massive stadiums, arenas, and amphitheaters. An excerpt from his new Heart Life Music book, shared by US Weekly, notes that preparing for the No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems Tour inspired him to hire a personal trainer to overhaul his lifestyle.
“I wanted someone on the road with me to work out daily and get my body into serious shape,” he said.
With his trainer’s guidance, Chesney focused on building strength through daily exercises such as pushups and a unique tool he calls the “Wheel of Death” — a small bicycle wheel used for 25-yard forward and back walking planks. He also prioritized endurance by running three to five miles, three times a week.
“It was about making my body strong enough to get onstage and give it all away,” Chesney said. “I wanted to throw all the energy and joy I felt inside the music into the crowd, to get them to feel the way I did up there.”
His commitment has clearly paid off: Chesney’s shows are known for nonstop energy, as he moves across the stage from start to finish, keeping the momentum high and the audience fully engaged.
