Kenny Chesney has reached another big mile marker at country radio, and this one comes with a few extra notches on the post.
According to MusicRow, Chesney earned his 37th No. 1 hit with “Carry On,” which topped the Country Aircheck/Mediabase Country chart.
That is a serious number, even for an artist who has spent a whole lot of time near the top of country radio playlists. For fans, it means “Carry On” is not just another familiar Chesney song rolling through the speakers. It is now part of a long run of chart-topping records.
A Big Song With Big Company Behind It
“Carry On” was written by Jessi Alexander, Chase McGill and Matt Jenkins, according to MusicRow.
The song appears on Chesney’s 21st album, “Silver Sands Marina.” That album now has a No. 1 country radio single attached to it, which gives fans another reason to spend some time with the full project instead of just catching the song between weather updates and coffee refills.
