Dolly Parton Enters the Truck Stop Industry to “Fill a Void” on America’s Highways: “A Place That Feels Like Home”

The celebrated country icon is infusing her signature flair into Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop, scheduled to open in early summer 2026.
Dolly Parton is taking her iconic brand to the open road.
The 79-year-old Grammy-winning country superstar, already behind a successful theme park and multiple hotels, announced this week a partnership with the Tennessean Travel Stop to give their flagship Cornersville, Tennessee location a Dolly-inspired transformation. By early summer 2026, the spot will reopen as Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop.
The new location won’t simply carry Parton’s name; it will blend her signature style with the heart of Tennessee, offering weary travelers and truck drivers a place that “feels like home.”
“I’ve spent most of my life on the road, especially on buses,” Parton said in a statement. “Visiting countless roadside stops, cafes, and truck stops has taught me exactly what travelers need. Whether you’re in a truck, a bus, or a car, you want a place that recharges you for the rest of your journey. I believe we’ll fill a real void on the highways, while sharing the heart and soul of Tennessee.”
The project is designed to appeal to both family road-trippers and professional truck drivers, while also creating jobs and bringing attention to underserved areas across Tennessee and beyond. Though Cornersville will be the first location, more Dolly-themed travel stops are planned across Tennessee and nationwide, with details set to be announced in 2026.
While design specifics for the flagship location remain under wraps, the website notes that permitting and partnership processes are underway. The site also hints at “an evolved travel experience” for visitors, and the location will remain open during renovations.
Parton has been keeping busy with other ventures as well. Her new SongTeller Hotel in Nashville is set to open in June 2026, and reservations are now being accepted. The hotel will also house her museum, Dolly’s Life of Many Colors, located on the third floor.
Meanwhile, Dollywood, her theme park in the Great Smoky Mountains, was named America’s “favorite theme park” for the third consecutive year in May by the National Amusement Park Historical Association. Opened in 1986 near Parton’s hometown, the park is co-owned by Parton and Herschend Family Entertainment.
