Blake Shelton Launches His 6-Night Las Vegas Residency: ‘This Means a Lot to Me’

Blake Shelton is embracing the bright lights of Las Vegas.
On February 5, the country star launched his residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, opening the show with Pour Me a Drink, his collaboration with Post Malone.
“This is a huge moment for me. It’s the first night of my very first residency, and it just so happens to be at Caesars—that’s pretty awesome,” he told the audience of 4,300.
“I’ve been visiting Las Vegas for years, so I understand my role tonight,” Shelton said. “We’re all here to create memories we’ll later act like we forgot, and my job is to give you the perfect soundtrack for your time in Vegas.”
Shelton’s 90-minute show was signature him—delivering hit after hit from his extensive catalog, sipping from a black plastic cup, and keeping the crowd entertained with his playful banter.
At one point, he spotted a fan wearing a custom t-shirt that read, Still not a Swiftie. I’m a Sheltie.
Reading it aloud, he laughed, “That’s definitely a YouTube moment. That’s gonna be all over social media. Taylor Swift’s gonna have me killed.”
Shelton kept the energy high, delivering lively performances of newer tracks like Texas while also delighting fans with classics such as Austin, Some Beach, and Home.
Adding a special touch, he performed several duets with his wife, Gwen Stefani, who appeared on a massive screen behind him, harmonizing with him in a prerecorded video.
“This is way too much fun to feel like work,” he said later in the show. “There’s a certain pressure that comes with playing in Las Vegas—like people are expecting trapeze artists or dancers to drop in at any moment.”
By the end of the night, Shelton was on a high from his straightforward, no-nonsense performance, telling the audience it was an experience he would “never forget.”
Although this six-show stint has been anticipated for some time, Shelton recently joked about being cautious when using the term “residency” around Stefani, who had an extensive three-year run in Las Vegas from 2018 to 2021. Over that period, she took the stage 57 times for her Just a Girl show.
“Gwen insists I can’t call it a residency since it’s only six shows,” Shelton quipped to the audience after marking the one-year anniversary of his Ole Red bar, located just across from Caesars Palace. “I definitely don’t want to overstay my welcome.”
