Blake Shelton Compares the Perks of His Las Vegas Residency to Living Like Elvis

Blake Shelton has officially kicked off his three-week Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace, settling into his temporary home for the duration of the run. The country superstar is quickly discovering that performing in one location for several weeks comes with some unique perks — including having his very own “office,” which makes him feel like royalty.
For the second consecutive week, Shelton joined Lon Helton to co-host Country Countdown USA, where he spoke about returning to Sin City for multiple January dates.
One of the highlights, he explained, is not having to constantly travel. Instead of spending nights on buses or airplanes, Shelton can remain in one spot and really get comfortable. He’s also enjoying the luxury of his own green room backstage.
“It’s fun. I actually have my own green room. We’ll go back there and have a drink,” Shelton told Helton. “I call it my office. There’s a desk, there’s a phone that’s not even plugged in. I feel like Elvis when I’m there.”
Away from the stage and his green room, Shelton admits he’s not spending much time in the casinos. He prefers to head to his Ole Red venue on the Strip.
“If I have some free time, I better poke my head in over there and hop on stage. We’ve done some of that,” he shared.
Shelton’s current single, “Stay Country Or Die Tryin’,” has reached No. 1 on the country radio charts. The track is the opening song on his latest album, For Recreational Use Only. When asked about new music, Shelton hinted that he has a collection of songs ready in case a deluxe edition of the album is planned.
“When I made this album, I recorded far more music than I needed. I held onto some of it, thinking that one day we might be sitting here again like today. If they decide to do a deluxe version, I’ve got exactly what they need,” he revealed.
The residency, titled BLAKE SHELTON: LIVE IN LAS VEGAS, began on January 15 and will continue with shows on January 18, 21, 23, 24, 28, 30, and 31. Night one featured a two-hour set packed with hits, including many of Shelton’s 31 No. 1 singles and the chart-topping “Texas.” He closed the night on a high note with his signature song, “God Gave Me You,” delivering an unforgettable experience for fans.
