Alison Krauss Postpones Upcoming Union Station Shows Following Doctors’ Advice to Rest Her Voice

Alison Krauss and Union Station have called off the remaining dates of their Arcadia Tour after doctors advised the country-bluegrass singer to give her voice time to recover.
Krauss, 55, announced the news on Instagram Thursday, Sept. 10, explaining that she had been instructed by medical professionals to undergo a period of vocal rest. The recommendation was made to support a complete and healthy recovery.
The band acknowledged that canceling the shows was a difficult decision, emphasizing their appreciation for their fans and their commitment to performing. However, they said protecting Krauss’ health and vocal condition must take priority for now, while expressing hope that they can return to the affected cities at a later date.
A total of 17 performances have been affected, beginning with the Sept. 11 show in Davenport, Iowa, and extending through Oct. 3 in San Francisco. The canceled stops also include Highland Park and Champaign, Illinois; Evansville, Indiana; Danville, Kentucky; Nashville; St. Louis; Austin and Lubbock, Texas; Norman, Oklahoma; Flagstaff, Arizona; Las Vegas; Alpine and Paso Robles, California.
Ticket holders for the canceled performances will receive full refunds.
The announcement comes roughly 18 months after Krauss and Union Station released Arcadia in March 2025. The record marked the group’s first full-length studio album together in 14 years.
When the album arrived, Krauss reflected on the stories and traditions that inspired its songs. She explained that the material drew from themes of family, loyalty, courage, dreams and the realities of human life as remembered through earlier generations.
Addressing how she approaches the album’s darker and more tragic songs, Krauss said she feels compelled to perform them because she sees herself as a storyteller entrusted with carrying someone else’s experiences to a new audience. She also expressed a desire to understand and preserve the stories behind the music.
