Blake Shelton announces that he will be performing his latest hit, “Texas,” at the 2025 ACM Awards on Thursday, May 8. In an interview with Country Now ahead of the highly anticipated event, the country music icon shared that he had just arrived in town, driving his truck from his home in Oklahoma, and is feeling the excitement as he prepares for his performance.
“I’ve got nothing to hide, and the show isn’t paying me, so I can say whatever I want,” he confessed. “Honestly, I was excited. I hopped in my truck, drove through the storm, and felt this rush when I crossed into Texas. It hit me—I’m literally heading to Texas to perform ‘Texas’ at the ACM Awards, which is pretty awesome.”
The lively track has quickly captured fans’ hearts and recently earned Shelton his 30th No. 1 hit. Written by Johnny Clawson, Kyle Sturrock, Josh Dorr, and Lalo Guzman, the song will be the lead single from Shelton’s upcoming album, For Recreational Use Only, which is set to release on Friday, May 9, just a day after the ACM Awards.
