The separation between Blake Shelton and Warner Music Nashville was amicable.
Blake Shelton has concluded his record-setting, two-decade partnership with Warner Music Nashville. The news was announced in a press release on Tuesday morning (September 3), which noted that the split was amicable.
In a statement, Shelton, 48, reflected on his journey: “I moved to Nashville when I was 17 to sing country music and get a record deal. With the support from Warner, my dreams came true, and then some. It’s impossible to name everyone who has contributed to our success, but a huge and heartfelt thank you to the Giant Records, Warner Bros. Records, and Warner Music Nashville staff and family.”
Warner Music Nashville expressed their sentiments, saying, “Working alongside Blake these past 23 years has been an honor and a privilege. Together, we’ve celebrated a record number of hit songs, sold-out tours, and award wins. Blake’s talent is undeniable, but his wit and the countless moments of laughter he’s given us remind us of how enjoyable this music business can be. While our time together has come to an end, we count ourselves among his biggest fans and are grateful for the journey with this true gentleman and icon.”
Shelton made a notable debut in 2001 with his single “Austin,” which topped the charts and launched a streak of 28 No. 1 hits. Throughout his career, he has garnered 11 billion global streams, sold 13 million albums, and 52 million singles. His accolades include 10 CMA Awards, including Entertainer of the Year and five consecutive Male Vocalist of the Year titles, as well as numerous ACM, AMA, CMT, and People’s Choice Awards.
Early next year, Shelton will embark on a Las Vegas residency with a series of six shows from February 5 to February 15, 2025. These highly anticipated performances will be held at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
Shelton, originally from Oklahoma, has been contemplating a Las Vegas residency for some time and is excited about the upcoming shows. “We’ve been talking about a Vegas residency for a few years, and all the pieces just came together for a run next year,” Shelton said in a statement. “The Colosseum is such an iconic venue, and I’m excited to bring some honky-tonk neon to the Palace.”
The shows are set for February 5, 7, 8, 12, 14, and 15, with each performance starting at 8 p.m. local time.
