“1,000 days, 1,000 moons, 1,000 hangovers avoided…”

Ashley McBryde is marking a significant personal achievement. The GRAMMY-winning artist recently shared that she has reached 1,000 days of sobriety.
McBryde previously discussed her path to sobriety with PEOPLE, revealing that she stopped drinking in June 2022. She initially kept her decision private for nearly a year before sharing the milestone on November 28, 2024. In a heartfelt Instagram post, the Grand Ole Opry member celebrated her accomplishment of being 900 days sober.
During that period, McBryde shared that she realized she faced two choices: “continue and die or stop and learn to live.” Acknowledging the harm she had inflicted on herself and those around her, she recognized the need to make a change — a decision she now considers the best one she’s ever made. While the path to sobriety has been challenging, each step has proven worthwhile as she celebrates reaching this remarkable 1,000-day milestone.
In her most recent post, McBryde shared a photo of herself holding a sign that boldly displayed “1000 Days Sober.” In the caption, she highlighted the many positive experiences and achievements she has enjoyed over the past 1,000 days thanks to her commitment to sobriety.
“1,000 days, 1,000 nights.
1,000 mornings without a hangover.
1,000 apologies I didn’t have to make.
1,000 times I chose to resist the urge or ignore the familiar scent.
1,000 moments proving that my love for music and life on the road outweighs the temptation to return to my old ways.
1,000 ‘I love you’s’ spoken to my reflection. I see the person I’ve become and the person I’m still becoming, with love and compassion for who I once was — a part of me I now care for every day.”
Reaching this milestone has given McBryde a deeper sense of respect and admiration for others navigating similar challenges on their path to success. She took a moment to inspire those facing struggles, reminding them to take pride in their progress and keep pushing forward, even if setbacks occur.
“Wherever you are in your journey — day one, day zero… day 400 or starting over for the tenth time — it’s worth it,” she shared. “Every day is a victory. Every version of yourself played a role in shaping who you are today. So love them.”
